Individual Therapy

Individual therapy sessions are usually weekly (or fortnightly) dependent on need and convenience and usually last for 50 minutes per session.

If you have any doubts or are unsure about the process then you can call or email with any questions beforehand.

The aim of the first session is to establish what you might want from therapy and to agree on realistic goals focusing on areas you would like to improve upon. In order to do this, questions are asked to help reach an understanding about what is happening in your life at the moment, including the difficult symptoms and problems that have lead you to seek help. As well as the problems, other areas of life are explored, in order to discover strengths, interests, and a background history is important to help draw up a formulation of how the difficulties have come about, been maintained or may have deteriorated.

The first session is also your opportunity to see whether you think Redhill Psychology is for you. It is vital that you feel comfortable with your therapist from the outset and you are not under any obligation to book any further sessions; this is a choice for you.
